Inspiring students of information and communication technologies to dedicate their professional careers to the climate challenge is the goal of the colloquium scheduled for February 14th at the auditorium of the South Campus of UPM. During a two-hour session, the ambassadors will draw from their experiences to address all audience questions and showcase their own professional journeys as examples of the interdisciplinary approach necessary to confront this challenge. Project AURORA will take part in this year’s EU 21st Week Regions & Cities. The biggest EU gathering of city and regional leaders will allow Project AURORA to demonstrate how citizen science can be used to engage people in the drive towards zero carbon emissions.
AURORA will present at the largest global solar energy conference in Lisbon 18-22th September 2023. It will give the AURORA project an opportunity to promote its ideas world wide on the most preeminent global platform for research and development in this field.
AURORA will contribute (together with 6 of our sister projects on Citizen Science) to a webinar at the EU Green Week on 8th June 2023 from 12.00 – 14.00hrs CEST. We will explore the power of citizen science to skill communities to tackle some of the most urgent environmental challenges of our time.
We invite you to attend the 9th Slovenian Photovoltaic Conference, which will take place on 7 June 2023 at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Tržaška cesta 25, Ljubljana. The conference is organized by the Slovenian Photovoltaics Technology Platform, SIST – Slovenian Institute for Standardization and the Laboratory of Photovoltaics and Optoelectronics LPVO Laboratorij za fotovoltaiko in optoelektroniko.

This citizen science initiative continues a series of monthly workshops, contests, and activities started in March with the open dialogue “Climate Change and Energy Crisis”. The overarching objective is to increase awareness among young people about their own relationship with energy use through various activities.
On the 18th of April, a meeting with the community will be held to present and discuss the potential energy communities to be constituted under the AURORA project initiative, either through the donation of funds directly to the University of Évora; or through a partnership with the Red Cross Évora for the creation of a self-consumption energy community with benefits in services or products for the participants.
Project AURORA was invited to the citizen science seminar organised by Akamediet for Talentfulde Unge (ATU). Researchers will discuss with over 100 talented high school students on the AURORA project and how young citizens can contribute to the green transition. The seminar will be held in Nobelparken, where the crowdfunded solar panels will be installed.
The Center for Extracurricular Activities of the University of Ljubljana organized a webinar on Sustainable Living and E-Mobility. The lecture will be held as part of the “Eco Month February” event.
On February 15, 2023, a public session between researchers and citizens will be held in the University. Several different topics will be discussed, focusing on energy, climate change and its impacts, renewable energy communities, the Portuguese legislation in force, and its implementation challenges.
ŠEK invites students to coffee and donuts at an event organized by the Študentski energetski klub / Student Energy Club (ŠEK) in collaboration with the Laboratory for Photovoltaics and Optoelectronics (LPVO) at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Ljubljana.
