đ€ Ana BelĂ©n CristĂłbal Highlights Citizen Participation through AURORA Project
A key moment of the day was the intervention of Ana Belén Cristóbal, speaking on behalf of the AURORA Project coordinated in Spain by the Technical University of Madrid (UPM). AURORA, a Horizon 2020 initiative, aims to empower citizens to take an active role in the energy transition by fostering local solar communities and promoting democratic access to renewable energy.
CristĂłbal emphasized:
âWe must define the kind of society we want, and that means engaging citizens in every stage of transformation. There is no energy transition without social justice and active citizenship.â
Her speech reinforced the idea that the energy transition is not only about technologyâitâs about people, equity, and participation.

đ€ European Climate Pact & Ambassadors
This initiative was supported by the European Climate Pact, a European Commission movement encouraging everyone to take part in building a greener continent. Its work is amplified by a growing network of Climate Pact Ambassadorsâcitizens and experts from all walks of life helping to spread awareness and lead by example.
