We were honoured to present project AURORA at the Geneva Trialogue and the subsequent Crowd4SDG Final Conference on March 17, 2023. These events were held at IdeaSquare, CERN’s innovation space.
Martin Brocklehurst from AURORA discussed the role of citizen science in addressing environmental issues and filling the democratic deficit in international agreements.
Using best case examples, the presentation highlighted how citizen science projects can be used to develop global policy programmes with a real impact on the fight against climate change.
Martin Brocklehurst concluded the presentation by stating that we have to go further and guide Member States in the development of frameworks for citizen science to fund and support programmes.
