Energy production from solar installation in Aarhus is online now

Energy production data from the community-owned rooftop solar photovoltaic installation in Aarhus becomes available on project AURORA’s website.

Integration of the production data was carried out by project AURORA’s partner QPV- Qualifying PhotoVoltaics and INSCICO. In the dashboard, users can see how much energy is produced in total.

On AURORA Energy Tracker’s online dashboard, the public can already see how much energy is produced in the installation in Aarhus, on a daily basis. It is also possible to view the data in a month, or a selected period of time. For those who are more interested in the detailed breakdown, the tool allows them to view a 15-min breakdown of the production during a specific day, if they click on the bar.

In addition, for members of the Universitetets Energifællesskab F.M.B.A (or UEF for short), it is possible to sign up an account and view how much energy is produced by their share(s) in the installation. Together with other functions in the AURORA Energy Tracker, it allows them to see the carbon emissions from their daily household electricity and heating consumption and transport, and how much emission is offset by their share in the community-owned solar photovoltaic installation.

“We are very excited about this function in the AURORA Energy Tracker. On one hand, it allows our community members to get a better understanding on how much energy their share of installation is producing, which I personally think is very empowering. On the other hand, it demonstrates that the benefit for members is not just economical but also environmental, in offsetting their personal carbon footprints”, says Marta Victoria, partner in AURORA project and also a board member for UEF.

Currently, the function to view the energy production from the installations across AURORA demonstration sites is only available on the online dashboard. The team expects that it will be soon become available on the AURORA Energy Tracker mobile application.
