Since 1992 she has been a professor and researcher at the University of Malaga. Its main lines of research are data mining applied to the modeling of solar energy systems, the evaluation and simulation of these systems, and the development of models for their use in urban energy sustainability. She has collaborated with researchers from different universities, among others: University of Waikato (New Zealand), Polytechnic University of Catalonia, University of Salerno (Italy), De Monfort University (UK), University of Alicante, Polytechnic University of Madrid, University of the Republic (Uruguay) and National University of Colombia. She has also developed extensive collaboration with different companies. Among the proposals on which she has worked, it can be highlighted the development of open access tools to evaluate the photovoltaic potential of urban areas, the development of an index to measure urban energy sustainability, the development of parameters for the characterization and evaluation of systems of photovoltaic self-consumption and the development of algorithms and models for the simulation and evaluation of renewable energy systems. She has participated in more than 20 national and international research projects and has published more than 100 articles in high-impact international journals and conferences.

Motivation

I have learned about the project and my work and interests align with its objectives. I would like to contribute to the implementation of photovoltaic, especially in cities, due to the responsibility of urban areas in the climate emergency and helping in the creation of open access tools to evaluate the renewable potential of territories from a social and ecological perspective. All with one objective: to contribute to achieving a fair energy transition that puts citizens at the center and is respectful of the territories.
