PhD fellows and postdoc researchers at the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering at Aarhus University gathered over breakfast to learn about the AURORA project.
The breakfast is organized by the PhD and Postdoc committee at the department as an informal platform for researchers to exchange ideas and explore ongoing research activities at the department. On 11 July, AURORA project was highlighted.
During a short presentation, Zhe Zhang, project coordinator of AURORA’s demonstration in Aarhus, shared the background of the project and key achievement over the last 3 years. She emphasized AURORA’s unique approach to citizen engagement and community-driven renewable energy, with a special focus on the local demonstration in Aarhus.
Zhe also shared updates on the latest activities at the Aarhus site, including the ongoing setup of a weather monitoring station. This station will play a key role in collecting real-time environmental data, which will be used to evaluate the performance of the crowdfunded solar PV power plant installed as part of the project.
The event provided an excellent opportunity to connect with emerging researchers and raise awareness about AURORA’s goals and achievements.
