The AURORA project has launched a monitoring system at the Aarhus demonstration of crowdfunded solar photovoltaic installation.
The system records key environmental data—irradiance and air temperature—alongside energy generation from the photovoltaic installation. By combining these measurements, researchers can assess how each installation performs under actual conditions, pinpoint inefficiencies, and identify opportunities for improvement.
Data is collected in real time and fed into dashboards for both project partners and participants. AURORA project partner, QPV Qualifying Photovoltaics, will carry out real-time analysis of the performance of the photovoltaic installation. Aggregated data will also be published on GitHub, allowing students and interested public to explore solar photovoltaic performance in Aarhus.
