As a case study for EU research project ACCTING, Universitetets Energifællesskab F.M.B.A (UEF), the AURORA demonstration in Aarhus, participated in an online workshop on 4th September.
The workshop was organised by researchers from Norwegian University of Science and Techology (NTNU), and participants included project leaders of energy community (EC) projects from Denmark, Norway and Italy.
At the workshop, participants shared and discussed barriers and obstacles vulnerable groups face in joining ECs, the challenges to developing these energy projects, and policy recommendations to overcome these challenges.
“It was a great opportunity for us to share and learn from other energy communities. As it shows, there are common challenges for energy communities, even though they target different groups and take place in different countries. We are glad our experience with the AURORA demonstration in Aarhus contribute to the joint learning.” says Zhe Zhang, coordinator for the AURORA demonstration in Aarhus and founding member of UEF.
