Ready, Steady, Go! On the way to join 500 students to the AURORA app challenge

Share

The AURORA team in the demo at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid has begun the mass dissemination and use of the AURORA app among campus students. The campaign, which started on January 30th, aims to actively engage at least 500 students who commit to collaborating with AURORA to record real data on their energy behaviour. The data collected will serve a triple function.

Firstly, it will contribute to AURORA’s mission to reassess the validity of its algorithm and discern how current energy transition scenarios can be modified to address citizens’ needs more accurately.

Secondly, it will raise awareness among participants about their level of responsibility in achieving the European climate goals for 2030.

Lastly, it will integrate AURORA’s research into various subjects taught on campus. Students in courses such as data mining, ethical and social aspects of ICT, science, technology, and society, as well as probability and statistics, will use the public databases compiled by AURORA as teaching material, allowing them to work towards their educational goals by exposing them not only to more realistic professional situations but also engaging them in a collective reflection on the themes of energy transition and climate change, which are central to the material provided by AURORA.

Our team has scheduled the presentation of this challenge to 15 groups of students from the schools of computer systems and telecommunications systems.
