Community Benefit Society Legal Status
We are delighted to announce that on 1st October 2025 Forest Community Energy CBS Ltd officially became a Community Benefit Society, registered with the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA). Registration number: 9620.
This is a great milestone and will allow them to set up a bank account and apply for grants and funding for local projects. Congratulations to the six Directors, the active group members, and to the many people who have supported and encouraged them on the way. A special mention to the Forest of Dean District Council and the Centre for Sustainable Energy for their advice, support and encouragement over the past three years.
Forest Community Energy (FCE) received invaluable mentoring support via the Energy Learning Network and they are also a member of Community Energy England, a membership organisation supporting over 300 community energy groups!

FCE also ran a brand re-fresh project over the last couple of months, gathering feedback and ideas from their members. This was a brilliant collaborative process, creating the Design Brief, two rounds of feedback, choosing the tagline and presenting the final logo.
Lovely work by local designer Aline Jeffrey. A combination of traditional and contemporary styles/colours, reflecting both the heritage of the Forest of Dean and the greener future we are all working for. They are using their new branding to great effect, with lovely promotional coffee coasters / beer mats, printed by Mosaic Board Printers Ltd.
