On 15-16 May 2025, the MatchPoint conference took place at Aarhus University, centering on the theme “Beyond Climate Neutrality: How We Get the Planet On Track”. The event brought together researchers, policymakers, and stakeholders to explore a wide range of topics—from renewable energy and carbon capture to public participation in shaping a sustainable future.
Among the highlights was the presentation of project AURORA, featured in two key sessions.
Marta Victoria, project lead of the AURORA project at Aarhus University, delivered a presentation titled “Photovoltaics Everywhere”, where she shared the outcome from the AURORA project and introduced Universitetets Energifællesskab F.M.B.A (UEF) — a solar energy cooperative that demonstrates how photovoltaic installations can be organized within a university setting.
In another presentation, Kristian Nielsen, center leader at the Center for Science Studies, highlighted UEF as a successful case of participatory decision-making in the green transition, underlining its role in empowering citizens.
Together, the two presentations underscored the significant impact of project AURORA in advancing citizen involvement in sustainable energy initiatives — marking it as a key contributor to the ongoing research of citizen science application in the green transformation.
