Biography

Zhe currently works at Aarhus University. Before moving to Denmark and joining AU, she worked as research associate and project lead at Energy Research Institute @ Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. During her career, she has been involved in and led multi-disciplinary national and international RD&D projects focusing on building energy efficiency improvement and renewable energy integration.

Motivation

We often hear complaints on wind or solar projects where residents express dissatisfaction about having wind turbines or solar panels in their backyard. I believe that by engaging citizens in the process and giving them ownership of such projects, there will be higher acceptance and accelerate the green transition. The approach demonstrated in AURORA, especially in Aarhus, proves that we can bring citizens to the table and make decisions that benefit the local community.
