At DOKK1, Citizen Science Denmark and Aarhus University gathered researchers, organizations, and citizens for the workshop “Sådan starter du op med Citizen Science (How to get started with Citizen Science) .”
In the breakout sessions, project AURORA stood out as an inspirational case study under the theme of “Climate and Green Transition”. Participants discussed strategies to attract and retain volunteers—an issue central to ensuring the success of citizen-driven research.
Among the showcased initiatives, examples from areas such as biodiversity, climate, and health were presented. The workshop also explored funding opportunities for citizen science projects in the EU and Denmark.
The event closed with networking at Aarhus Street Food, where the conversation continued. Project AURORA’s experience underscored the importance of effective engagement in building strong and sustainable citizen science projects.
