On 23 September, the LPVO Laboratory of Photovoltaics and Optoelectronics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana organised a special event at this year’s EU PVSEC conference in Vienna. The LPVO organised a social and educational event for all EU PVSEC participants called “Show me your carbon footprint and get a beer”. The event was organised at the University of Ljubljana stand at the EU PVSEC exhibition area. It was scheduled just after the end of the officially announced workshop at the same venue. At least twenty people, who are already extremely aware of the carbon dioxide emissions issue, downloaded the AURORA Energy Tracker mobile app. When they returned to their home countries, the PV experts attending the event used the mobile app for their social circle.
The EU PVSEC has already hosted the launch of the AURORA mobile app, but not yet in such a social and informal way.
The event was announced and communicated via LinkedIn with the EUPVSEC and EUPVSEC2024 hashtags – as almost all EUPVSEC participants use LinkedIn regularly, this ensured additional participants.
The LPVO also closely collaborates with the AURORA student energy community called the Student Energy Club ŠEK.
