- PhotOVE Restrictions: Photographs must be taken between 30 September 2024 and 10 May 2025. This period is divided into two cycles: Cycle A from 30 September 2024 to 10 January 2025, and Cycle B from 11 January 2025 to 10 May 2025. Both cycles will culminate in the selection of the best photographs. A single photo cannot be submitted for evaluation in both cycles. However, Cycle B may include photographs taken during Cycle A.

- Themes of PhotOVE:
- Theme A: “Renewable Energy Sources” – Photographs should depict renewable energy sources and their applications.
- Theme B: “Thermography” – Photographs should be taken using a thermographic camera, which can include a smartphone camera attachment. Candidates may attend a thermography workshop organised by the ŠEK Student Energy Club during the colder parts of Cycles A and B. ŠEK also provides the option to borrow a thermal imaging camera for smartphones through the TERMOTEKA service for photographing at independently chosen locations.
- Participation Conditions: The competition is open to students of the University of Ljubljana. Each participant may submit up to four (4) photographs per theme. By submitting photographs to the competition, participants agree that the organiser may use the images for exhibition purposes in digital or physical form. Additionally, the organiser may use the photographs for promotional activities. Participants will be notified of the results via email.
- Preparation and Submission of Photographs: Participants may submit colour or black-and-white photographs. Cropping, as well as light, contrast, and sharpness adjustments, are allowed. Adding, relocating, replacing, or removing image elements is not permitted. All works must be submitted digitally via the online application form: https://forms.office.com/e/8y8nv2eEKa. Only digital images in JPG format will be accepted. Each file size must not exceed 10 MB. Drone photographs are allowed. Photos should be submitted without frames or borders. Entries must be the participant’s original work, for which they assume full material and moral responsibility. Photos submitted in other formats will be disqualified. Only photographs (created using photographic equipment) are accepted; AI-generated creations are not permitted.
- Entry Fee: Participation in the PhotOVE photo competition is free of charge.
- File Naming: All photographs must be named. The title of each photograph should not exceed 25 characters and must not include the participant’s name.
- Evaluation Criteria: The jury will look for creative, interesting, and inspiring entries. Submissions will be judged based on:
- Relevance to the competition theme
- Creative expression
- Technical skill
- Convincing quality of the entry
- Reserved right: The organisers and jury reserve the right to disqualify any entries deemed to violate competition rules, terms, or conditions or that may undermine the competition’s integrity.
- Prizes: In each cycle, three prizes will be awarded for each theme (a total of 12 prizes). Each prize consists of a set of six Trojane doughnuts (six-pack).
- Exhibition: By entering the PhotOVE competition, participants agree to have their photographs exhibited (in physical or digital form).
