Project AURORA team in Aarhus partnered with the educators at the Mechanical and Production Engineering Department at Aarhus University, hosting a hands-on workshop to solder and assemble solar panels on 4th March 2025. Close to 40 students from the 1st semester Bachelor of Engineering programme joined the workshop.
The students were divided into groups of 2-3 people and tried their hands on soldering solar cells and assembling them in series to make their own solar modules. It is a first time experience for many students to touch and work with solar cells. The students are surprised at how fragile the solar cells are, and quickly learned the techniques to handle the cells.
The workshop was hosted as part of a course to introduce students to the practical aspects of the engineering profession with a focus on shaping technical solutions that hold responsibility towards nature and people. The course instructor and students were happy with the learning experience.
