Biography

I am currently professor and Head of the Department of Mechanical and Production Engineering at Aarhus University in Denmark. After 20 years in industry in Sweden and abroad, in 2009, I joined University of Southern Denmark, building up a research group focusing on research within operational modal analysis and structural health monitoring, mostly on wind turbines. In 2021 I joined Aarhus university. I am the author of Noise and Vibration Analysis: Signal Analysis and Experimental Procedures, 2nd edition, published by John Wiley and Sons, 2023.

Motivation

The green transition of the energy sector is challenged by neighbour resistance in many places. Recent research has shown that the resistance is reduced when neighbours are involved as co-owners. That is why I think the AURORA network is such a great idea, because it gives an incentive for people to participate in the transition which is bound to lead to a faster transition.
