Between June 6 and 9, the Sustainable Energy Youth Network (SEYN), in cooperation with AURORA, EU GREEN ALLIANCE and Drive Impact Ciclopes, held several activities in the field of energy transition.
On June 6, an Active Mobility Workshop focused on practical skills and tools for repairing bicycles. This workshop culminated in a bike ride on the morning of June 7. The theme of the ride was energy transition and to showcase projects in this area in the city of Évora.
In the afternoon, the Do-it-Together Solar Energy Workshop was held at Quinta Shiva, in Évora, and ran until Sunday. Around 15 people took part in the workshop, where they built a sound system powered by a solar panel and a solar food dehydrator.
The sound system has a small battery that can be charged either by the solar panel or by a battery charger. This is very useful when you want to listen to music on a cloudy day. In addition, the system has inputs for charging small electronic devices, such as a cell phone.
With this, the family and guests of Quinta Shiva can listen to music and charge their cell phones anywhere. The dehydrator was built mainly from wood, and has mesh shelves for placing the food to be dehydrated.
Both projects were then donated to the farm family.
