Yesterday, the 11th Slovenian Photovoltaic Conference took place at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Ljubljana – the leading national professional event in the field of photovoltaics. This year’s edition marked a special milestone: the official inauguration of the AURORA solar power plant, installed on the rooftops of the faculty buildings.

As part of the conference programme, Dr Matevž Bokalič presented the SE.FE solar power plant, which has been installed across various roof surfaces of the faculty complex. His presentation highlighted key aspects of the project, including the potential for crowdfunding, students’ active involvement through the Student Energy Club, and the innovative system for real-time monitoring of the plant’s performance, displayed on large video panels in the faculty’s main hall.

The SE.FE solar power plant is expected to generate approximately 200 MWh of electricity annually, covering more than ten per cent of the faculty’s total annual electricity consumption. The installation represents a significant contribution to the university’s green transition and its commitment to sustainable energy management.
