As described in the previous article AURORA Solar Power Plant at the University of Ljubljana in Progress Part 1, photovoltaic panels were installed on the D and C roofs of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the University of Ljubljana in July.
In the autumn, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering oversaw the internal installation of cable ducts, which will enable the connection of various solar power plant components to the public electricity grid. We provided further details in the article “Such a Thick Cable”.
Activities related to installing the solar power plant on the roof resumed at the end of November 2024. In the last week of November, the solar power plant on Roof A was fully installed. This power plant is divided into two sections, and its unique feature is an almost horizontal inclination.
In December, installation activities for the solar power plant on Roof B started. Like the roof surfaces of each building at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Roof B also has its unique characteristics. On this roof, the solar power plant will be divided into seven physically separate sections.
We anticipate completing all activities related to the installation of the AURORA solar power plant at the University of Ljubljana by the end of the year. If we also succeed in connecting the plant to the grid within this year, it will mark a complete success.
