Motivation

It is with sincere appreciation and great enthusiasm that I accept the invitation to become an Ambassador of the AURORA project. I consider this both an honour and a responsibility—one that aligns perfectly with my personal and professional mission to accelerate the transition to a clean, citizen-cantered energy future.
As the Director of the Slovenian Photovoltaic Association (ZSFV), I have spent the last few years advocating for broader access to solar energy, promoting policy reform, and supporting the growth of solar communities across Slovenia. The AURORA initiative, with its emphasis on democratizing energy through local ownership, citizen science, and behavioural engagement, embodies the very principles we have been working to embed into our national energy landscape.
Slovenia is just setting the conditions to really enable the growth of such communities which has been long overdue and I really look forward to seeing put in practice. What excites me most about AURORA is its commitment to social innovation. Enabling individuals to become prosumers (where we are lagging in Slovenia), informed energy citizens, and participants in climate solutions is precisely the cultural shift we need to meet our renewables goals. The project’s educational and participatory aspects will be key to its long-term impact.
As an ambassador, I will actively promote the project’s goals through our industry network, municipal contacts, and public engagement platforms, ensuring that the message of AURORA resonates throughout Slovenia. I also see an opportunity to scale the project’s learnings beyond the pilot in Ljubljana and support the formation of new energy communities in both urban and rural settings.
Thank you for your trust. I am proud to stand alongside this pioneering initiative and look forward to working with the broader AURORA community to build a more resilient, inclusive, and solar-powered Europe.
Finally, I would like to congratulate the team on receiving (recently) the award at Slovene energy days which further strengthens its importance.
