Biography

Henrique Sim-Sim holds a degree in Zootechnical Engineering from the University of Évora, with a specialization in Development Cooperation and a Master’s in International Relations and European Studies. With a career focused on social and sustainable development, he has extensive experience in social innovation projects, entrepreneurship, and rural development, particularly in the Alentejo region. Since 2006, he has played a key role at the Fundação Eugénio de Almeida, coordinating various initiatives, including the Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program, which led to the creation of the Social Innovation Centre. He was also a member of the Portugal Social Innovation Mission Structure and has mentored and served as a jury member for various entrepreneurship projects nationwide. Additionally, Henrique is the Chairman of the Management Committee of the Social Innovation Incubators Network and Alentejo de Excelência, an organization dedicated to the strategic development of the region. He co-founded the Ibero-American Institute of Rural Tourism – IBEROATUR and is actively involved in various advisory committees, including the Évora City
