Motivation
At a time when the energy transition should accelerate, it is running into resistance at the local level. One challenge concerns how to engage local residents in the energy transition in ways they find meaningful and legitimate. That is why AURORA is an exciting project. It offers a real-world laboratory for testing ways towards citizen engagement in renewable energy projects. Moreover, the comparison across several European countries can provide important input to European energy policy.
