Motivation

I have been involved in civil society activities since my years at the University. As a senior lecturer and researcher at UPM, I strongly believe in social change as a driver for my profesional activities, mainly related to the human rights approach to technological change, digitalization and sustainability. The Knowledge for Policy UE strategy is crucial for AURORA, as climate justice needs the involvement of all stakeholders: public institutions, companies, civil society organizations and academia. I am happy to contribute to the AURORA project and its mission to advance Europe’s transition to a sustainable, citizen-driven energy system. Through my work, I explored the ethical, legal and societal dimensions of environmental policies and the importance of human rights frameworks in achieving a just transition. AURORA’s emphasis on empowering citizens and communities and fostering inclusivity through co-creation resonates deeply with my academic focus.
