The Student Energy Club (\u0160EK) has supported the EMC Workshop \u2013 a traditional student competition in electronic design for EMC, which has been held for the ninth consecutive year at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Ljubljana. The EMC Workshop offers a unique opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience with the challenges of electromagnetic compatibility, a crucial factor in the development of any new electronic device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What is Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) and Why is it Important?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) ensures that electronic devices function correctly within their environment without causing or being susceptible to electromagnetic interference. Ensuring compliance with EMC standards is often one of the most demanding challenges that engineers face, from the initial product design stage to its final validation and market launch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Student Competition<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
This year, the competition takes place from March to June, with Forvia Hella Saturnus Slovenia as the main sponsor. The challenge for this year is the development of an adjustable automotive LED headlamp. Following an initial meeting that introduced the problem and a series of technical lectures, the workshop now progresses to the development of a conceptual solution, the design of an electrical schematic and a printed circuit board, followed by the realisation of the device and performance testing. Throughout the workshop, students adhere to set milestones, at which they receive feedback on their proposed solutions. Industrial partners, as sponsors of the competition, provide practical support, all necessary materials, and valuable incentives for the most successful students. This presents a unique opportunity for students to translate their theoretical knowledge into practice and gain valuable experience in solving real-world engineering challenges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u0160EK’s Role in the EMC Workshop<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
This year\u2019s EMC Workshop holds special significance for \u0160EK, as we have actively contributed to several key aspects of the event:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We assisted in organising the introductory meeting at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
We contributed suggestions for challenges that students will tackle during the workshop.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
A significant number of students participating in the EMC Workshop are members of \u0160EK, demonstrating that young people in our club recognise the value of engaging in such projects.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
Furthermore, we are pleased that the head of the EMC Workshop, Prof. Dr Marko Jankovec, is an ambassador of the AURORA project, which promotes sustainable solutions in the energy sector. This further strengthens the connection between academic knowledge, industrial experience, and innovative approaches to addressing modern technological challenges and the green transition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
