On April 3rd, the Benito Villamar\u00edn Stadium in Seville hosted a high-impact event organized by the European Climate Pact<\/strong> in collaboration with Forever Green<\/strong><\/a>, the sustainability platform led by Real Betis Balompi\u00e9. \ud83c\udfa4 Ana Bel\u00e9n Crist\u00f3bal Highlights Citizen Participation through AURORA Project<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A key moment of the day was the intervention of Ana Bel\u00e9n Crist\u00f3bal<\/strong>, speaking on behalf of the AURORA Project<\/strong><\/a> <\/strong>coordinated in Spain by the Technical University of Madrid (UPM)<\/strong>. AURORA, a Horizon 2020 initiative, aims to empower citizens to take an active role in the energy transition<\/strong> by fostering local solar communities and promoting democratic access to renewable energy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Crist\u00f3bal emphasized:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe must define the kind of society we want, and that means engaging citizens in every stage of transformation. There is no energy transition without social justice and active citizenship.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Her speech reinforced the idea that the energy transition is not only about technology\u2014it\u2019s about people, equity, and participation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This initiative was supported by the European Climate Pact<\/strong><\/a>, a European Commission movement encouraging everyone to take part in building a greener continent. Its work is amplified by a growing network of Climate Pact Ambassadors<\/strong><\/a>\u2014citizens and experts from all walks of life helping to spread awareness and lead by example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
