This all-day-long event (12 hours) is organized by the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.eestec-lj.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Electrical Engineering Students\u2019 European assoCiation (EESTEC)<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.s3k.si\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Student Energy Club (\u0160EK)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Photovoltaics (PV) is the fastest-growing renewable energy technology in the last decade and has already reached the status of the cheapest electricity generation source. The price of PV is steadily decreasing with economies of scale, making it affordable for all people and a good investment opportunity with rising electricity prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Three laboratories of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering are involved in the preparation of the challenges and have prepared tasks for the competing teams in their respective fields of activity:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Laboratory for Electrical Networks and Installations (LEON); Developing a proposal for a strategy that would allow distribution networks to connect more renewable electricity sources without interfering with the existing grid.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Laboratory for Energy Strategies (LEST); Developing the idea of creating a sustainable energy community in your environment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Laboratory for Photovoltaics and Optoelectronics (LPVO); Determining the current state of the art of PV technologies and systems by proposing technological solutions to make PV more cost and energy competitive. Developing strategies to deploy as much PV as possible in a given space, in the most innovative, yet technically feasible and cost-effective way.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\"><br>The award ceremony for the top three teams will take place on Thursday 20 April 2023 at 13:00 in the foyer of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering.
